Police Warn of Possible Fraud Scam

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service has received information, from the local office of the Canadian Red Cross, that a male person has been seeking donations and contributions for the Burma Cyclone Relief Fund and or the Chinese Earthquake victims.

The public should be advised that the Canadian Red Cross does not solicit funds door to door and it does not request Visa or MasterCard Credit Card numbers over the telephone.

If such an individual has approached you or attempted to received funds from you please contact Sarah Digasparro at the Canadian Red Cross
