A 35 year-old male was arrested on the 28th of October at 6:59 pm at the city police station and charged with two counts of assault and one count of assault with a weapon.

It is alleged that the accused while in a relationship with the female victim, in the middle of September, assaulted her at his residence by bending the victim’s fingers back and forcing her to the ground.

The accused then attended at the victim’s residence the next day and assaulted her several times within a five hour span by grabbing her, pinching her, sitting on her and pressing a lacrosse stick against her throat in attempts to choke her.

The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assaults.

The accused will appear in bail court today.
