This is Red Lake fire 7 in north-western Ontario currently being fought that is 1400 hectares in size and of one 44 fires burning in Ontario. 28 of these fires are being monitored since they are in areas of low concern in the far north, and three fires are listed as not under control, including Red Lake 7. The remainder have been contained.

Red Lake 7 exhibits extreme fire behaviour. Ground crews and air tankers continue to be challenged holding this fire. Expect more growth to this fire with forecasted weather. This footage contains shots showing thee windy conditions, aerials of flames and smoke and a helicopter landing and being loaded with supplies by FireRangers at a staging area.

Heading into the weekend everyone is reminded to take all necessary precautions when working or participating in recreational activities in forested areas. Be careful with all outdoor fires, including brush fires and campfires this year. See Ontario.ca/fireprevention for FireSmart tips for safe burning practices.
