The film “Poor No More”, which Tony recently screened in Ottawa, features Mary Walsh, well know Canadian comedian, writer and actor.
Sault Ste. Marie MP Tony Martin, and the Algoma Community Legal Clinic are hosting a forum about Poverty on Friday, June 4th in Sault Ste. Marie at the Soup Kitchen Community Centre.
Individuals, families and community groups are invited to participate. This will be an opportunity for people to share their stories about living in poverty. The stories will be collected and sent to the Interfaith Social Assistance Review Coalition (ISARC) for their “2010 Audit on Poverty”. For more information see www.isarc.ca.
The event will be held at the Soup Kitchen Community Centre, 172 James St. and begins at 11 a.m. with a lunch for the participants and facilitators. A mini-version of the locally written and produced play “In My Shoes” will be staged, followed by stories from the participants.
